Paula Duncan,
Adolescent Sexuality: Beyond the Numbers

Paula Duncan, MD, is the youth health director at the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program and a professor of pediatrics at the University of Vermont School of Medicine. In partnership with public health, Medicaid, and Vermont health plans, her team works with Vermont pediatric and family medicine practices to improve adolescent preventive health care services. Nationally, she cochairs the Health, Early Care, and Education Consortium of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Center for Child Health Research. She is the AAP Community Pediatrics Action Group chair and a past chair of the AAP Committee on School Health. Her work has focused on family, state, school, and community partnerships to improve child and youth health outcomes, especially through the use of positive youth development approaches.
