Bernard Guyer,
Child Health: An Evaluation of the Last Century
Bernard Guyer, MD, MPH, is a Zanvyl Krieger Professor
of Children’s Health in the Department of Population and Family
Health Sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public
Health. From 1989 to 2003, he served as department chair. Dr. Guyer
was the recipient of the Golden Apple” Teaching Award
in 2003 as well as the 2003 Martha May Eliot Award. He
is a member of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and chaired the IOM
Committee on National Immunization Policies and Practices. Dr. Guyer
currently chairs the IOM Committee on the Poison Control System.
From 1979 to 1986, Dr. Guyer directed the Maternal and Child Health
Agency in the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. In addition,
he is the author of more than 200 published papers.
