Advocacy Resources

Advocacy matters at the AAP. It is at the core of the organization's existence and we work every day to advocate for the health and well-being of children. Breastfeeding advocacy groups are very important to increasing the breastfeeding rates in the US. The AAP advocates for breastfeeding on the federal level and encourages the efforts of AAP state chapters and local coalitions.

Working to pass new legislation with my AAP state chapter and breastfeeding coalition provides a lasting legacy and produces a sense of accomplishment far different from what I feel by caring for patients in the office. It is hard work and very much worth it. -
