Peer Support and Networking
Learning from and meeting other pediatricians who are interested
in community-based activities expands the Community Access to
Child Health (CATCH) network of pediatricians and improves the
individualized assistance available for improving children's access
to health care at the community level.
The CATCH Program provides support and motivation through:
The CATCH Network:
- Over 100 District, Chapter, and Resident CATCH facilitators
- A database of 16,000 pediatricians and other child health
advocates
- Over 900 past CATCH grant recipients
- CATCH staff
Who are CATCH Facilitators?
- Pediatricians with a special interest in community pediatrics
and children's access to medical homes and other needed services
- Part of the AAP Chapter leadership
- Part of the nationwide CATCH network
CATCH Facilitators' Role
- Provide technical assistance visits
- Assist projects in linking to local resources
- Assist projects in recruiting pediatricians
- Highlight/promote CATCH/HTPCP projects in their community
- Provide technical assistance to potential applicants and grantees
- Review and score CATCH grant applications
How to Join this Mentorship Network:
- Join the American Academy of Pediatrics
- Add your name to the CATCH database of over 16,000 pediatricians
- Apply for a CATCH grant
- Contact your Chapter CATCH facilitator
- Attend the next national CATCH meeting and earn CME
- Attend a CATCH Visiting Professorship Program in your state
