CATCH Residency Training Grants Program

The Community Pediatrics Training Initiative (CPTI) partners with the Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) Program to provide this grant opportunity targeting pediatric residency training programs. The mission of the program is to provide support to residency programs to build sustainable opportunities for residents to gain experience working on community-based child health initiatives that increase access to medical homes or specific health services not otherwise available. Grants of up to $12,000 will be awarded on a competitive basis to pediatric residency programs which submit proposals to plan and implement community-based child health initiatives as part of the training curriculum over the course of 16 months.  A pediatric faculty member must oversee the project and provide mentorship for residents participating in project activities.

The next Call for Proposals will be available in September 2008. For more information, please e-mail cpti@aap.org or contact your District CATCH Facilitator (DCF) to access the DCF roster.

CPTI Advocacy Training Grants

The CPTI supports pediatric faculty-resident pairs to attend the AAP Legislative Conference in Washington, DC each year. Each faculty-resident pair is required to implement an educational activity on child advocacy in coordination with their local AAP chapter following the conference. Local chapters will receive up to $1,000 toward completing the educational activity in conjunction with the faculty-resident pairs.

The next call for applications will be available in fall 2008. To view the list of 2008 & 2007 grantees, click here.

CPTI was founded by Anne E. Dyson, MD and is generously supported by the Dyson Foundation.
