Division of Community Health Services
The Division of Community Health Services was established in 1989
to coordinate initiatives and develop strategies to assist those
who seek to improve community health services for children within
a Medical Home by:
- Developing and implementing health promotion and disease-prevention
strategies to achieve the Healthy People 2010 national health
objectives;
- Offering opportunities for AAP members and others to improve
their knowledge, attitudes, and skills within their practice,
community, and chapter;
- Implementing the principles and strategies described in the
AAP policy statement “The
Pediatricians’ Role in Community Pediatrics”;
and
- Strengthening the interface and collaboration between public
health and pediatric practice.
