The Office of Oral Health works to improve the oral health status of Maryland residents through a variety of public oral health initiatives and interventions, characterized by a focus on health promotion and disease prevention.

Maryland Oral Health Resource Guide 2008
The Oral Health Resource Guide was developed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Oral Health, to inform and assist children, adults, patients with special health needs, caregivers, consumer groups, and government agencies in finding affordable and appropriate dental care services in Maryland and the immediate surrounding regions.

Maryland State Dental Association
The Maryland State Dental Association represents and supports the dental profession in its efforts to provide high quality, ethical, oral health care to the public. The Web site is set up to provide public information such as updates and referrals and member information including continuing education opportunities, legislative issues and a calendar of events.

WIC Lesson Plans
The Maryland Office of Oral Health has developed a series of oral health lesson plans for use by counselors in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). The lesson plans introduce mothers to proper oral health for their children, good nutrition for oral health, their child's first dental visit, and oral health for pregnant women.
