Children's Health Alliance of Wisconsin is a leader in the oral health access movement and works to facilitate the ongoing efforts of needs assessment, coalition building, program development and policy development to increase access to oral health care and improve the oral health of Wisconsin children and families.
Governor's Task Force to Improve Access to Oral Health
As part of the KidsFirst Initiative, Governor Jim Doyle called for a task force to analyze and offer solutions to address the shortage of dental care professionals and improve children’s access to dental care in Wisconsin. He directed his office to create the task force and to develop policy recommendations.
Integrating Preventive Oral Health Measures Into Healthcare Practice: Training Program for Healthcare Settings
The Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, Oral Health Program is pleased to offer training for medical providers that will assist in integrating oral health promotion and oral disease prevention services into health care visits. An interdisciplinary approach to oral health has the potential to promote and assure comprehensive primary, oral health prevention services, increase healthy birth outcomes, and diminish oral disease burdens.
