you thought about how to make your program evaluation more rigorous?
This teleconference for Healthy Tomorrows and CATCH grantees
and others interested in community-based initiatives can help
you. The teleconference will focus on evaluating community-based
initiatives.
Teleconference objectives
At the completion of the call, the listener will be able to:
1. Identify the distinguishing characteristics of evaluation research
and the benefits of conducting evaluation.
2. Describe a process to write clear goals and objectives.
3. Identify significant evaluation challenges and strategies to
address them.
4. Apply data collection and management techniques presented through
case studies to a project's evaluation plan.
Whether you are at the start, middle, or end of your project,
Healthy Tomorrows and CATCH grantees are strongly encouraged to
participate in this teleconference. This 90-minute call will feature
3 presentations from evaluation experts, followed by 40 minutes
of questions and answers. This is your opportunity to get your
evaluation questions answered!

Speaker Information
Holly Ruch-Ross, ScD is an evaluation consultant
for the Healthy Tomorrows and CATCH Programs at the AAP. Ms
Ruch-Ross works with AAP staff to assist Healthy Tomorrows projects
to create or modify an evaluation plan. Ms Ruch-Ross also works
with Children's Memorial Medical Center in Chicago, Proviso
Township Schools, the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority,
and the Chicago Public Schools in project evaluation.
David Keller, MD FAAP is a current Healthy Tomorrows
grantee and a District CATCH Facilitator. Dr Keller is an Associate
Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts
Medical School, and Medical Director of South County Pediatrics,
a community-based practice of the Medical School located in
a semi-rural community south of Worcester. Working with the
attorneys at the Legal Assistance Corporation of Central Massachusetts,
he has received a Healthy Tomorrows grant to develop Family
Advocates of Central Massachusetts, a community-based medical-legal
collaborative in Worcester County, MA.
Thomas Young, MD FAAP, Associate Professor of Pediatrics
at the University of Kentucky and Medical Director at Family
Care Center and Healthy Kids Centers, is a recent CATCH grantee
and has been involved in 2 Healthy Tomorrows projects. Dr Young
is very involved in his community, working on projects with
many local programs including the Fayette County School Health
Advisory Council, Child Development Center of Bluegrass, the
Healthy Kids Center, Success by Six Leadership Board/United
Way of Bluegrass, and the Kentucky Pediatric Society.
