Rheumatology

  Section Membership is open to the following Member types:
Fellows, Post Residency Training Members, Candidate Members, Resident Members, International Members, Emeritus Fellows, Corresponding Fellows, and Honorary Fellows

  • Dues/year: Residents - $10*,  All other national member types - $40*.  Affiliate Members-$60.

    *In addition to national dues
  • Applicants for members should meet one of the following requirements:
    • Certified in pediatric rheumatology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
    • Devote more than 50% of their practice to pediatric rheumatology.
    • Be a pediatrician with a special interest in rheumatology.
    • Be an outstanding individual who is dedicated to the field of pediatric rheumatology.
    • Be enrolled in a pediatric residency.

Affiliate Membership

  • Licensed Physicians not eligible for AAP Membership.
Applicants must submit:
  • Two letters from Fellows or Specialty Fellows. One must be from a member of Section on Rheumatology who can verify that the physician is part of a rheumatology team.
  • Registered nurses and nurse practitioners who are demonstrably active in Pediatric Rheumatology with at least 50% of time to patients with rheumatic diseases. The majority are members of the American College of Rheumatology – Arthritis Health Professors Association (ACR-AHPA).
Applicants must submit:
  • Copy of license
  • Two letters from Fellows or Specialty Fellows. One must be from a member of Section on Rheumatology who can verify that the RN or NP is part of a rheumatology team.
  • Occupational and Physical Therapists who are demonstrably active in Pediatric Rheumatology with at least 50% of time to patients with rheumatic diseases.
Applicants must submit:
  • Copy of license.
  • Two letters from Fellows or Specialty Fellows. One must be from a member of Section on Rheumatology who can verify that the OT or PT is part of a rheumatology team.
  • Registered dieticians demonstrably active in pediatric rheumatology.
Applicants must submit:
  • Copy of license or certificate.
  • Two signatures (on application) from Fellows or Specialty Fellows. One must be from a member of Section on Rheumatology who can verify that the dietician is part of a rheumatology team.
