Communications publicizes and promotes AAP policy, programs and activities to the media, the public, other health organizations and AAP members. In addition to providing background information and sources to journalists, the department produces materials for print, broadcast and online media as well as several member communication vehicles. Communications also works on public information campaigns with government, nonprofit and industry partners, and addresses the child health aspects of media. With the Office of the Executive Director, the Department of Communications is responsible for crisis communications and responses to emerging health issues receiving media and public attention.
