Sponsors
- Search for sponsors to donate financial support, materials, equipment, and/or
services. Approach community groups, businesses, labor groups, and even individual community
and business leaders.
- Determine whether you will charge a fee for exhibitors. Depending on your budget
and level of sponsorship, you may decide to have exhibitors pay a fee to offset rental, heating,
lighting, or other costs.
- Draw local businesses into the fun and encourage them to offer give-aways.
They can also assist by promoting the fair to their customers. For example, health food shops
or restaurants can provide food and beverages, and a grocery store can give away bags to
hold the materials attendees collect. A printing company can donate paper and/or printing for
fliers, posters, and signs. Ask stores, restaurants, and other businesses to donate door prizes
and other give-aways.
- Give sponsors recognition. In return for their support, you need to give sponsors public
recognition through your publicity efforts.
