The HFCA Strategy
In September 2006, HFCA partners agreed thatwithin each of our organizations, across disciplines and among politicians, policymakers, and the public, that we would adopt a common strategy of:
- Creating awareness
- Improving knowledge
- Building specific skills
HFCA partners agreed to:
- Teach each other what is necessary to work collaboratively to provide the best health care for children and teens in foster care
- Attend one another’s meetings
- Write for one another’s newsletters and make newsletters open to one another’s work
- Share what is learned with the broader membership of each organization
- Develop and promote a joint political agenda at the national, state, and local levels
- Develop and promote a joint public awareness campaign to nurture grass-roots momentum for addressing the health needs of children and teens in foster care
- Collaborate on fund-raising efforts
