INFECTIOUS DISEASES
|
The viruses and bacteria that can cause disease are found everywhere. Fortunately, our bodies are equipped to protect us and most often we remain well. Sometimes, however, these viruses and bacteria evade our immune systems and cause illness. Fact sheets, brochures, books, audio files and policy statements about recognizing, treating and caring for children with infectious diseases are listed below.
The Red Book 2006: Report of the Committee on Infectious Diseases is the manual created by the Committee on Infectious Diseases for pediatricians and is the comprehensive source for AAP policy regarding control of infectious diseases in children. This manual, revised every three years, is available free to Academy members and is available for purchase in either online or print versions. |
