NATIVE AMERICAN HEALTH
|
American Indian and Alaska Native children experience significant health disparities compared to non-Native populations in the US. In particular, access to care, injury, infectious diseases, mental health disorders, and obesity pose special challenges. Funding limitations, political decisions, tribal laws and treaties, demographic changes, and cultural variables all contribute to the complex nature of health care for Native children and communities. |
