SPORTS PARTICIPATION
|
Every child and adolescent should have an opportunity to participate in sports and regular physical activity. Participation can be associated with both health benefits and health risks. To ensure safe participation, physicians caring for children and adolescents must be able to provide advice on appropriate activity and be prepared to care for an injury or illness that jeopardizes health of continued participation. With healthy activity as a goal for everyone, restricting participation within reason as a means to limit risk is no more acceptable than promoting participation without refard to safety.
Sports Shorts A publication which examines a single sports-related condition and is designed for both physicians and parents.
