Fellow
Applicants for AAP Fellow must be certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or La Corporation Professionelle de Medicins du Quebec.

Specialty Fellow
Applicants for Specialty Fellow must be certified by Boards other than those Boards that qualify them for Fellowship, see above Fellow qualifications, and that are recognized as qualifying for Specialty Fellowship by the Board of Directors. Specialty Fellows must have a designated specialty Section through which they must apply for membership. Applicants must have adequate training in the field in which the applicants are specializing and demonstrate that a minimum of 50% of their professional activities in practice, teaching, or research is with infants, children, adolescents, and young adults as determined by the specialty Section through which they apply. Each Section determines the requirements necessary for Specialty Fellows. Please check the requirements for the applicable Section before submitting the application.

Corresponding Fellow
Applicants for Corresponding Fellow who reside and practice in a country other than the United States, its territories, or Canada and have have been certified by Boards that qualify them for Fellowship.

Canadian Paediatric Society/American Academy of Pediatrics (CPS/AAP) Dual Fellow
Canadian Paediatric Society/American Academy of Pediatrics Dual Fellowship is available to pediatricians who practice in Canada. Applicants must have received initial certification in pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or La Corporation Professionelle des Medecins du Quebec, and must be members of the Canadian Paediatric Society.

American College of Physicians/American Academy of Pediatrics (ACP/AAP) Dual Fellow
Applicants for ACP/AAP Dual Fellow must be members of the American College of Physicians at the time of application to the AAP in order to take advantage of the reduced dues.
