Strategy 1: Learn what child health topics/areas are important in your state
Learn what groups are interested in quality and what areas are important to public health, Medicaid, universities/academic centers, medical schools, private insurers, medical societies and/or foundations.
Strategy 2: Identify chapter members who are interested in improving care
Begin a discussion or convene a meeting to learn about each other's interests and experiences in improving children's healthcare quality.
Strategy 3: Develop a chapter QI committee
Develop a chapter committee of members who have interest and experience in quality improvement. Examine the following questions when developing a plan for your committee:
- How can our chapter be of value to our members interested in QI?
- How can we support member practice efforts in QI?
- What messages about quality and QI can we send to our membership?
- What partnerships must we create to help us engage in QI efforts?
- What strategic initiatives must we work on?
- Are there legislative priorities for QI within our state?
