Public-Private Partnerships to Improve Health Care Quality:
Lessons from Leading States
Tuesday July, 21 2009: 3:00-4:30 pm (EDT)
Based on findings from a recent NASHP project, this webinar will provide an overview and description of state quality improvement partnerships (QIPs)-strategic, statewide, public-private partnerships dedicated to improving the quality and value of health care. Drawing from the experiences of Colorado, Kansas, and Rhode Island, we will discuss how QIPs form, set priorities, establish and balance roles for state officials and private partners, and engage stakeholders in order to plan and execute quality improvement initiatives.
This free event is supported by The Commonwealth Fund. Speakers will highlight their respective experiences, which include: a comprehensive planning process to establish the infrastructure of a QIP; the importance of data and interagency coordination in sustaining a QIP, particularly during tight fiscal times; and the role and perspective of the private sector in successfully engaging leaders in the implementation of QIP initiatives.
