Online Evaluation Overview
With the release of the 5th edition of the NRP, we have developed a Written Evaluation Online tool, which allows you to take the evaluation at your convenience. When you feel that you have mastered the required lessons, you can register for the online written evaluation.
Once registered, you have 14 days to complete the lesson evaluations. The new online written evaluation is easy to use, has 24-hour access, and time saving.
General Information
Registration for online testing requires that you identify an NRP instructor who is willing to evaluate the Performance Checklists and/or Megacode prior to completing the online evaluation.
Online evaluation must take place prior to evaluation of Performance Checklists and/or Megacode.
If you choose to renew your status using the online evaluation, you must successfully complete all relevant lessons of the online evaluation prior to the expiration date on your existing NRP Provider Card.
After online testing is complete, you will be able to print out a verification of completion that will delineate which lessons have been successfully completed and the date. You must present this to the identified instructor within 30 days of completion as evidence of successfully completing the online exam. In addition, you will need to present your current NRP Provider Card. If your card has expired, you will be required to pass all Performance Checklists. If your status is current, you need only take the Megacode.
If 30 days pass without completion of the Performance Checklist component, the online test becomes invalid. The 30 days start on the day that the learner takes the examination the first time. The $29 test fee is not refundable.
International Users
Individuals outside of North America are welcome to use this online testing program. However, NRP Course Completion Cards are not issued for courses held outside North America or US territories. If you elect to complete the online evaluation, you will also need to complete the performance checklists and Megacode testing under the guidance of an approved instructor within North America or a US territory within 30 days of successfully completing the online evaluation in order to obtain a Course Completion Card.
Online Evaluation Institutional Purchases
Institutions are able to reduce the fee for the online evaluation by purchasing multiple access codes for their users. The access codes will not expire until they are redeemed by the student.
