The Academy of General Dentistry is an organization of 30,000 general dentists from California dedicated to continuing dental education as a means of providing the best possible patient care.

California Dental Association
The association was established to provide a vehicle through which the concerns and interests of dentist, could be identified and addressed. The Web site provides Information and resources for professionals and consumers.

California Head Start Association: Oral Health Training Project

Provides various oral health resources including information on the California Oral Health Education and Training project, tip sheets and other oral health links.

California Society of Pediatric Dentists

The mission of the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry is to protect, improve, and advocate for the oral health and general welfare of infants, children, adolescents, and persons with disabilities. The Society serves its members and represents the specialty of pediatric dentistry in California to achieve excellence in practice, education, and research. Parents are invited to explore the Web site for general information as well as support in locating pediatric dentists.

Center for California Work Force Studies
The Center researches the supply, distribution and composition of oral health care providers in California and actively works with state and local agencies and initiatives that seek to understand and address the fact that many Californians do not have access to care.

First Smiles

First Smiles is a statewide initiative to address the "silent epidemic" of Early Childhood Caries affecting children ages

Mommy, It Hurts to Chew: The California Smile Survey

This brief summarizes the oral health survey of children in 186 elementary schools conducted in 2005 in California. The brief describes the methods used in the oral health screenings, six key findings from the results, and recommendations on developing a broad-based approach for reducing the impact of oral disease on children and their families and public programs.
