Chapter Activities Julie Celeberti, MD, FAAP, and Catherine Balance, MD, FAAP, have received AAP National grants for dental health assessments and to educate pediatricians on fluoride varnish application.
Dr Balance will give Grand Rounds with workshops for pediatric residents and local community doctors at Jersey Shore Hospital. This may
be expanded to other hospitals.
Salem County Toothmobile Project Gets Funding
The Salem Health and Wellness Foundation has awarded a grant to the Tri-County Community Action Partnership's Toothmobile Project.
The Toothmobile is a 40-foot, fully-licensed, certified and equipped mobile dental unit that provides preventative and restorative dental services, along with oral health education to uninsured and underinsured children. The Toothmobile is staffed by a dentist, dental assistant, and dental clerk who provide dental services, instructions on proper dental care, and educational materials. (9/19/09)
