Follow-Up Survey

The case studies at left will enhance your ability to diagnose and treat otitis media. Cases deal with the full clinical spectrum of otitis media including acute otitis media, unresponsive AOM, recurrent AOM and OM with effusion. Cases use video clips of pneumatic otoscopy to facilitate your learning experience. For a comprehensive review of otoscopy and its associated terminology, use the "Otoscopy Review" link.

To support interactive feedback and video we can only support a few of the many combinations of PC operating system, web browser, and video software. Our software will warn you if you need to consider changing any of these. We recommend Windows 95 or higher, with Netscape's web browser in version 3 or higher, and Apple's Quicktime for Windows video software. Netscape Communicator and Quicktime are currently free for download.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4+ can also be used.

Each of the otoscopic videos may take a few minutes to load with even a good modem (33k and above) connection to the internet. Typical times for a 300k video file via a 28.8kbps modem are 2-3 minutes. We hope your patience will be rewarded with an improved educational experience. As technology becomes available we shall find a way to reduce the delay in loading the videos. Also make sure your monitor display is set greater than 256 colors to properly view video clips (see help pages for more information).

After you have gone through some cases, please fill out this follow-up survey to tell us how you enjoyed the Virtual Classroom experience.
