SWIMMING
POOL SAFETY VIDEO PACKAGE AVAILABLE
More than 900 children under the age of 15 drowned in swimming pools
in 2002. In addition, nearly 2,700 children suffered from near-drownings
that year, many of which resulted in permanent brain damage. To help
prevent these tragedies, AAP Communications has produced a video news
release (VNR) about swimming pool safety. In addition to the VNR,
the video package includes English and Spanish soundbytes with Deborah
Mulligan, MD, FAAP and b-roll of kids swimming in a pool, visuals

Communications staff is pleased to offer to broadcast media new b-roll
on the topic of overweight and obese children. In response to frequent
requests, AAP has produced b-roll that includes interviews with two pediatricians
on the topic of preventing overweight and obesity. The footage also includes
children in a clinic setting being examined, weighed and measured, as
well as shots of overweight children at a variety of summer festivals
(faces are obscured or hidden). The footage is combined with existing
