Vision Screening Study

Protocol Overview


Set up patient enrollment and informed consent procedures in for practice;
Enroll children into the study (ages 3 years to 5years seen for a well-child visit regardless of whether vision screening was to be part of that visit).

Study time frame was a 12 week period from May to July of 1988.

Parent Questionnaire was completed by parent and data card completed by the practitioner and/or office staff.

Follow-up questionnaire was mailed, two months later, to the parents of children who failed the vision screen , failed the cover/uncover test on physical examination, or had been referred to an eye specialist.
