CARING FOR CHILDREN WITH ADHD: A RESOURCE TOOLKIT FOR CLINICIANS
(Available in English and Spanish)

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) offers a comprehensive toolkit developed from evidence-based guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This resource toolkit contains a wide array of screening, diagnosis, treatment, and support materials for clinicians and other health care professionals.

These recommendations emphasize that ADHD is a chronic condition that is best addressed with a multidisciplinary, multimodal treatment approach.

This toolkit contains practical tools to help incorporate the new AAP guidelines into office practice, including

  • Symptom checklists for use by parents and teachers
  • Guidance on selecting appropriate therapy
  • Forms to acquire teacher reports
  • Examples of written management plans to help strengthen family skills
  • Strategies to assist the clinician in monitoring the child
