Each year since 1997, a random sample of graduating residents from U.S. pediatrics residency programs is mailed a questionnaire containing core tracking questions and a set of yearly theme questions. Core tracking questions focus on residents' demographics, training, career goals, and job search experiences. Several trends can be seen within the 12 years of data that have been collected.
