Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
AHRQ is a Federal agency charged with improving the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. As one of 12 agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services, AHRQ supports health services research that will improve the quality of health care and promote evidence-based decision making.
American Legacy Foundation
The American Legacy Foundation is dedicated to building a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit. The foundation develops national programs that address the health effects of tobacco use through grants, technical training and assistance, youth activism, strategic partnerships, counter-marketing and grass roots marketing campaigns, public relations, research, and community outreach to populations disproportionately affected by the toll of tobacco.
Environmental Protection Agency
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a federal government agency established to protect human health and the environment.
Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute (FAMRI)
The Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute sponsors scientific and medical research for the early detection, prevention, treatment, and cure of diseases and medical conditions caused from exposure to tobacco smoke and to ensure that health care providers ask the right questions of their patients about secondhand tobacco smoke exposure.
National Cancer Institute
The National Cancer Institute (NCI), a component of the National Institutes of Health, is the federal government's principal agency for cancer research and training. NCI has in-depth, scientifically sound information on many smoking-related topics, including the effects of secondhand smoke.
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation seeks to improve the health and health care of all Americans. Among other areas, the Foundation provides grants to projects that reduce the harm caused by tobacco use.
