Ambulatory Pediatrics Association Pediatric Tobacco Issues Special Interest Group (The Cig SIG)
The Cig SIG’s mission is to bring members and friends of the APA together for networking, dissemination of information, and discussion of research and funding opportunities, education, health care delivery, public policy, and advocacy related to pediatric tobacco control.

Addressing Tobacco in Healthcare – A Research Network of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
The Addressing Tobacco in Healthcare Research Network (ATHC), supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, connects researchers, health care providers and other partners interested in developing and implementing changes to healthcare systems that will improve the delivery of evidence-based tobacco dependence treatment.

American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. The link above provides information and resources related to children and secondhand smoke.

American Legacy Foundation
The American Legacy Foundation is dedicated to building a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit. The foundation develops national programs that address the health effects of tobacco use through grants, technical training and assistance, youth activism, strategic partnerships, counter-marketing and grass roots marketing campaigns, public relations, research, and community outreach to populations disproportionately affected by the toll of tobacco.

American Lung Association
The mission of the American Lung Association is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Among other useful information, the association has developed a fact sheet on children and secondhand tobacco smoke.

Bloomberg Foundation
A global program to reduce tobacco use in low- and middle-income countries was launched in 2006 with funds from Bloomberg Philanthropies. A competitively awarded grants program is an important part of the program. The grants program supports projects to develop and deliver high-impact tobacco control interventions.

Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute (FAMRI)
FAMRI’s mission is to sponsor scientific and medical research for the early detection, prevention, treatment, and cure of diseases and medical conditions caused from exposure to tobacco smoke and to ensure that health care providers ask the right questions of their patients about secondhand tobacco smoke exposure.

Global Tobacco Research Network
The Global Tobacco Research Network’s mission is to enhance research by promoting collaboration and partnerships, providing information, facilitating training, and sharing research tools with the goal of reducing the burden of disease and death caused by tobacco.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation seeks to improve the health and health care of all Americans. Among other areas, the Foundation provides grants to projects that reduce the harm caused by tobacco use.

Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco
This web site provides information on the latest research, abstracts, publications and events related to nicotine and tobacco.
