The Periodic Survey of Fellows routinely gathers data from AAP members on current topics in pediatrics and pediatricians' practice characteristics.

AAP Pediatric Research in the Office Setting (PROS)
PROS is a practice-based research network that was established by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) in 1986. As of March 2005, PROS consists of 1,953 pediatric practitioners from 719 practices in 49 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, teamed with a research staff at AAP headquarters in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and research consultants from around the country.

There is a number of practice-based research network studies underway led by Richmond Center core investigators:

International Tobacco Control

Members of the AAP Julius B. Richmond Center, the Section on International Affairs, the Section on International Child Health and the Tobacco Consortium are currently exploring opportunities to address children's issues in tobacco control in all countries, bringing pediatric voices to tobacco control policy discussions, and engaging pediatric associations in helping their members become clinical and policy advocates.
