AAP Clinical Report and Patient Brochure on CAM for Kids
The December issue of Pediatrics features the AAP clinical report, The Use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, by the Section on Complementary and Integrative Medicine and former Task Force on Complementary and Alternative Medicine. This report offers outlines common types of CAM therapies; review medicolegal, ethical, and research implications; provides resources for learning more about CAM; and suggests communication strategies to use when discussing CAM with patients and families.

CAM for Colds & Flu
The Complementary and Alternative Research and Education Program of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, is collaborating with the journal, Pediatrics in Review, and SOCIM to publish information for pediatricians on the safety and effectiveness of commonly-used CAM therapies and natural health products. This series consists of brief summaries outlining the most recent evidence available on each therapy as it relates specifically to children. The current issue features the common cold.
