Results of the 2009 Bioethics Essay Contest Announced

The Section on Bioethics is proud to announce the winners of the 4th Annual Ethics Essay Contest! Sabrina Derrington, MD, FAAP received first place honors for her outstanding submission entitled "Advocating Autonomy: Fulfilling Our Duty to Adolescents at the End of Life."

Herbert Joseph Bonifacio, MD was awarded second place for his timely essay on social networking entitled "A Difficult Position: To Confirm or Deny an Adolescent Patient's 'Friend' Request."

Congratulations to Drs Derrington and Bonifacio! We extend our sincerest appreciation to all who participated in the contest this year; the caliber of essays submitted was truly excellent.
