Welcome
to the AAP SOHM website. The SOHM is one of the most actively growing sections
of the AAP, and it is the home for Pediatric Hospitalists.
The
discussions on our listserv® attest to the growth of our section and the new
"specialty" of pediatric hospitalists medicine. Our members daily network
through our listserv® and our hospitalist-specific CME activities. Many of
us are facing the same challenges and trying to find answers to the same questions.
Some of these are clinical, some are administrative and some speak to the basic
problems facing hospitalist medicine.
We
are all looking for evidence-based indicators to help us clinically, to define
and prove our value to hospital systems and to help us establish and maintain
healthy, sustainable pediatric hospitalist programs. The important work of the
Section will help provide answers. Active membership in the Section is rewarding
both personally and professionally. I encourage all Pediatric Hospitalists to
join us -- this is an exciting time for Pediatric Hospitalist medicine!
