2006 Medicine-Pediatrics Educational Forum
Sunday, October 8, 2006

3:30-7:30pm

Faculty:
Michael Tracy, MD, FACP, FAAP
Ellen Singer, MD, FAAP
Allen Friedland, MD, FACP, FAAP
Alison Buonocore, MD, FAAP

This session will be geared to Med-Peds Section members and will discuss various aspects of Med-Peds practices. Being a Med-Ped physician, parent, spouse, and so forth can make one feel as though they need to be Dr. Incredible or Elastidoc. Knowing that about half of our audience will be residents or students and the other half will be practicing Med-Peds physicians we address questions and concerns of each group using the more experienced physicians to mentor those looking at Med-Peds as a career.

1) Describe the different aspects of practicing Med-Peds in various geographical areas.
2) Explore the options available post-residency for Med-Peds graduates including fellowships, hopsitalists, and other opportunities
3) Discuss the common and frequent problems associated with having a Med-Peds practice and solutions for these common areas.
4) Explore ways to ensure a successful long-lasting career.
