The EMSC (Emergency Medical Services for Children) Program is proud to be celebrating their 25th anniversary by holding an EMSC Day, which will be held on Wednesday, May 20, in conjunction with EMS Week, May 17-23, 2009. The goal this year is to increase public awareness by creating a community network of local businesses, organizations, families, schools, hospitals, EMS agencies, and others that seek to help advance the care of children. We encourage all of you to promote EMSC Day in your state and local community. The EMSC National Resource Center (NRC) has compiled a toolkit to help you get started with your EMSC Day celebration by educating your staff and volunteers; parents, caregivers, health care providers, and other community members, about how to best prepare for a pediatric medical emergency. The toolkit includes resources for parents and caregivers, resources for staff and volunteers, clipart, and fun activities for kids. This year, 30 million children will receive emergency care. Check out tips about keeping children safe, including:
EMSC provides downloadable products and resources, including information on Emergency Guidelines for Schools, Disaster Preparedness, Basic Emergency Lifesaving Skills and more! If you have any questions concerning these materials or the EMSC Day celebration, please call
