WEB SITE COMMITTEE

The Perinatal Section Web site is intended to serve as a valuable resource to Section members and is designed to provide information to four groups: neonatologists, trainees, pediatricians and families. Content of Web site pages is tailored to each group. At the present time, the framework has been completed and we are compiling Web content such as spotlight articles, documents, descriptions, photos, news articles, liaison organizations, and links that will be incorporated into the Web pages for the four user groups.

Scope of Committee Work

This committee currently is working with a commercial firm and the AAP Information Technology staff to design, launch and continually update a new state-of-the-art Section on Perinatal Pediatrics Web site. The Web site will serve four groups: neonatologists, trainees, pediatricians and families and content of Web site pages will be tailored to each group. At the present time, the framework has been completed and we are compiling Web content such as spotlight articles, documents, descriptions, photos, news articles, liaison organizations, and links that will be incorporated into the Web pages for the four user groups.

Current Initiatives

• Web site design recently was completed with the assistance of Forum One
• Identification and uploading of current content and document archives
• Identification of Web links that will be of interest to users of our site
• Creation of new Web site content
• Compilation of contemporary and historical photos and historical information for the site
• Web Writing presentation at the Perinatal Practice Strategies Workshop
• Web Writing presentation handouts

Get Involved!

The Web site committee needs help with many tasks, including: creating Web site feature articles, identifying Web sites to which the Section's site should link, soliciting additional web content, and soliciting and identifying photos -- both generic photos as well as those of specific subjects.
