The American Academy of Pediatrics is partnering with the ACR Research and Education Foundation to further refine this award and provide a balanced selection process. With the help of the Academy, the ACR REF hopes to further promote the award among the pediatric residency programs and incorporate the Academy into the peer review and selection process. The purpose of the ACR REF/Amgen Pediatric Rheumatology Visiting Professorship Program is to provide educational opportunities for medical students and residents in institutions where no established pediatric rheumatology expertise exists.
