This hospital-based program provides evaluations for victims of child maltreatment. The scope of our services include both inpatient and outpatient evaluations. A Sexual Abuse Management Clinic provides comprehensive forensic evaluations encompassing the psychosocial and medical aspects of care. Interviewers are skilled in utilizing accepted forensic techniques. Most interviews are documented on videotape with facilities available for involved professionals to view the interview process through a one-way mirror. Physical examinations are conducted in a clinic setting by a pediatrician and/or nurse practitioner. Video colposcopy is utilized for purposes of documentation, case review, peer review, and education. Examiners are providers and trainers for the Missouri Sexual Assault Forensic Examination-Child Abuse Resources and Education (SAFE-CARE) Network.
