The Children's Advocacy Center of Sullivan County provides services to children who may have been victims of child physical and sexual abuse. In addition to medical exams, the program offers crisis intervention and counseling. The Center provides court training for children and families and community education programs for Sullivan County residents.

As a department of LeBonheur Children's Medical Center exclusively focusing on child abuse issues, medical consultations are provided to LeBonheur inpatients to rule in/out child abuse; family evaluations are conducted by a multidisciplinary team at the request of TN-Children's Services protective service workers; and outpatient treatment services are provided to victims of abuse/neglect and their parents. The Center provides home visitation services to new teen mothers to prevent child abuse.

The Children's Advocacy Center of Hamilton County is a child-friendly environment which provides coordination of services for child abuse victims. Children can receive sexual assault medical examinations, extended psychosocial assessments and crisis counseling. The Center maintains an expansive resource library related to child abuse and provides professional and community education focused on prevention.

The Special Attention Clinic is for the medical evaluation of children believed to be sexually abused. Children are referred for DHS and local physicians after initial investigation and interviews. The evaluation includes a general physical exam, as well as genital and rectal exams using a colposcope with camera attachment. Findings are conveyed to the Department of Human Services, and with local law enforcement when indicated.

This is a multidisciplinary group that reviews all inpatients referred to the Department of Human Services. Inpatient and emergency medicine physicians, intensive care and hospital nursing services, chaplain, child life, social services, and home health care are all represented. The purpose is to ensure adequate investigating, reporting, and follow-up services to victims of child maltreatment.

Children's Advocacy Center of Knox County offers a single child friendly location, in which victims of child sexual abuse can be interviewed by one member of a professional multidisciplinary child protective team, psychologically evaluated and medically examined within seven days of disclosure. The Center houses offices for Department of Children's Services, Law Enforcement, the District Attorney, a psychologist, and a pediatric gynecologist.

The Memphis Sexual Assault Resource Center is a multidisciplinary agency that provides forensic medicolegal evaluations on alleged victims of sexual assault/abuse for the investigating agencies. Other services of the agency include crisis intervention/counseling in the office and 24 hour hotline; legal assistance that includes pre-trial conferences, court escort, victim's compensation, and night court for children; medicolegal/forensic evaluations that include medical screening, physical and material evidence collection; expert witness services to the courts including forensic evaluators and forensic serologists; community education that includes pathology of the crime and prevention instruction; and professional training to medical professionals, attorneys and legal professionals, and social professionals.

The OUR KIDS Center provides medical and psychological evaluations and support for children who may have been sexually abused. Between 850 to 1000 children are seen each year from Davidson and surrounding counties. The Center also provides training opportunities for professionals in the medical and psychosocial fields.

The Child Maltreatment Program is responsible for coordinating Vanderbilt University Medical Center's efforts in child abuse recognition and prevention. The Maltreatment program is involved in education of the local, state and regional health care providers and community social service workers, as well as increasing awareness of community prevention programs. The CARE Team consultant provides forensic medical evaluations of hospitalized patients to evaluate cases of suspected physical abuse or neglect. The CARE Team provides multidisciplinary care review for all patients evaluated and expert medical testimony in child abuse cases. A weekly outpatient clinic provides comprehensive evaluations and forensic consultation on cases of physical abuse, neglect and non-organic failure to thrive.
