2006 Local Heroes Award Recipient
Anu Partap, MD, MPH, FAAP
Anu Partap, MD, MPH is a pediatrician who founded the Arizona
Center for Community Pediatrics (ACCP). ACCP is affiliated with
the Department of Pediatrics at Maricopa Medical Center, the Arizona
Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Phoenix
Children' Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center Pediatric Residency
Program. ACCP works collaboratively with hospital-based systems,
public health, advocacy groups, and government agencies to improve
children's health. Since 2001, ACCP has secured over $2 million
in grant funds that target early childhood systems improvement,
domestic violence, injury prevention, resident education, and
access to medical homes. Dr Partap has worked in school-based,
hospital-based, private practice, Native American, and charity
faith-based clinics serving Medicaid or uninsured children.
