• The Power of the Pediatrician: Problem Solving Strategies to Meet Your Patients' Mental Health Needs

  This session, developed and sponsored by the COCP, will present talks on the early recognition and triage of mental health problems in primary care settings based on the breakdown of the following age groups 0-3, 4-11, and 12-21. A highlight was be the poster session that will provide attendees an opportunity to speak directly with individuals involved in successfully integrating mental health into their practices or community projects.   This annual event celebrates the accomplishments of pediatricians working to improve children's health at the community level. Successful projects will be highlighted. This event is sponsored by a grant from Wyeth.

• Pediatrics for the 21st Century Symposium Series
  Determinants of Child Health: The Role of the Pediatrician - Community Pediatrics for the 21st Century

  This program will focus on community pediatrics, specifically on advancing the health of children through community health efforts and child advocacy. This event is supported by the Community Pediatrics Training Initiative through funding from the Dyson Foundation.

1. Go to http://www.aap.org/moc/indexEntry.cfm and login with your AAP ID and password.
2. Click on "Member Community".
3. Click on "Join a Section or Council" under Section, Council & Committee
Information.
4. Choose "Council on Community Pediatrics", answer a few questions, and click "Submit".
