Comments: The Pediatric Sports Medcine fellowship is an ACGME approved one-year fellowship in the Section of Adolescent Medicine and Sports Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. The fellows are generally trained in pediatrics or medicine and pediatrics. Clinical experiences include: (1) the Sports Medicine Clinic at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) in the Texas Medical Center and community-cased TCH Health Centers, in which patients of all ages are seen by two board certified sports medicine physicians (clinic is staffed by physical therapists durning clinic time); certified sports medicine p hysicians (clinic is staffed by physical therapists during clinic time); (2) Texas Southern University (TSU), Division 1-AA football (1-A all other sports); (3) training room or school based sports clinics at five high schools; (4) continuity clinic with community-based pediatrician certified in sports medicine; and (5) a medical clinic for marathon runners.
