Thomas E. Shaffer, MD Award

The Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness established the Thomas E. Shaffer, MD Award in 2000 and Dr Shaffer was the first recipient. This award is sponsored by Nationwide Children's Hospital and recognizes an individual who has made a lifelong contribution to the field of pediatric sports medicine by displaying leadership and vision, providing quality presentations and publishing documents relevant to this specialty.
