American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Residents welcomes you to the medical student homepage!  Although our official name is “Section on Residents,” we are actually the home for residents, fellows and medical students within the AAP.

Medical students were first offered membership in the AAP just over 5 years ago.  As such, the med student role in the AAP is still evolving…  We are excited to say that in the past year our opportunities for medical student members have dramatically increased.  If you are not already a member, we hope that you will consider joining.  (Annual dues are only $16 for medical students!)  For more information and the application form, please click here.

In December 2007, we selected the members of our new Medical Student Subcommittee.  This outstanding group of six medical students from across the nation will work with us on developing resources for both medical students and Pediatric Interest Groups.

You can learn more in person at the AAP National Conference and Exhibition (NCE) --- for medical student members the registration is FREE!  The 2008 NCE will be in Boston October 10 – 14, and the Resident Section activities are during the first two days.  On October 10th, we will have the section reception and case presentations.  The Resident Section Annual Assembly will be a full-day affair on Saturday, October 11th.  We hope to see you there!
