Young physicians who are members of the AAP can get free aap.net forwarding service!

Why should I sign up for this service?
Many members have requested this service to promote their AAP membership. This forwarding service will be convenient to members who move or switch their Internet Service Provider. It will provide continuity for those individuals sending e-mail to you. You will just need to maintain your current personal native forwarding address on the Member Center at www.aap.org and your e-mail service will be uninterrupted.

How does this forwarding service work?
All e-mails sent to your aap.net e-mail address will automatically be forwarded to whatever personal native e-mail address that you designate. When you receive an e-mail through the forwarding service, the "TO" field in the e-mail will show your aap.net e-mail address. The "FROM" address will be the original sender's e-mail address. When you "REPLY" to these e-mails, your reply will be sent from your personal native e-mail address, and that's what the individual that you are sending to will see.

How do I sign up for the forwarding service?

How do I update my native personal e-mail address?
Your personal forwarding e-mail address can be updated on the Member Center. It is the member's responsibility to keep it updated to ensure delivery of all e-mails.

Will I receive a confirmation of my aap.net forwarding e-mail address?
Yes, you will receive an e-mail confirmation that all mail sent to your aap.net address will be forwarded to the e-mail address you have designated. You will also be able to view your current forwarding address on the Member Center as well.

What about privacy and security?
The aap.net forwarding service will not perform any virus checks or spam filtering on the e-mail that passes through the service. This will be the responsibility of the member, using whatever filtering method you currently use on your "forward to" mailbox. Therefore, if you have certain senders blocked, they should continue to be blocked. The original sender's e-mail address will be retained and you will continue to see it in the "FROM" field

Can I change my aap.net e-mail address?
Changing your aap.net e-mail address will only be possible if your name has recently changed and that change is reflected in our member database. You may contact the AAP Customer Service Center to have your name changed in our member database.

Can I opt out of the forwarding service once I have signed up?
Yes, you may opt out at any time. It can be done through the Member Center.
