Web Browsers
The AAP Web site was designed and tested using Internet Explorer 6.0 and Netscape version 7.1. This site recommends that your Web browser be IE 6.0 or Netscape 7.1 or higher. You can check your browser version by choosing "Help", and then the "About" option in your browser. If you need to updated your browser, you may click on the buttons below to download a new version.

Special note to America Online users: You are not required to use the AOL browser, you can use an external Web browser when using AOL.

Monitor Resolution
This site was designed for a screen resolution of 800x600 or higher. We recommend that users have a screen resolution of at least 800x600, and that the font settings in your browser are using the default settings.

Text Size
If you are viewing our site and the text is too large or too small, you need to adjust the text size in your browser. In Internet Explorer, you would choose View, then Text Size, then choose a different size from the list. Please note that changing the text size may change the layout of the pages you are viewing.

Printing
If you have trouble getting the entire page width to display correctly when printing try setting your margins to .20 in.
In Internet Explorer this setting is found under the File -- Page Setup menu item.

Recommended Web Browser Plug-Ins
Many files on the AAP Web site are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, which require the Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in. If you do not have this plug-in, you can download the Windows (5.5 M) or Mac (5 M) versions from our Web site, or you can or visit the Adobe Web site for more information.

The AAP Web site also contains audio and video files that require the RealPlayer plug-in, which can be downloaded from www.real.com.

You can check your browser's plug-in files by choosing "Help", and then the "About Plug-Ins" option.

Javascript
You should have Javascript enabled when using the AAP Web site. If your browser is version 6.0 or above, Javascript is already active.

Cookie Files
The AAP Web site may employ Cookie Technology to provide certain features such as customized delivery of information. This will allow users to move more quickly through our Web site. Cookies are small text files that Web sites use to recognize repeat users. In general, cookies work by assigning a unique number to the user that is not used outside of the Web site that assigned the number.

Cookie technology does not enable access to a user's system, nor does it pose a threat to a user's files.
