National
Committee on Early Childhood, Adoption and Dependent Care
The Committee
on Early Childhood, Adoption, and Dependent Care (COECADC) philosophy
is based on the importance of early childhood in the context of
the family and social environment as crucial to the health and
well-being from childhood through adult years. The committee focuses
on early childhood development, early brain development, child
care, adoption and foster care. We also develop the following
manuals: Health in Child Care: A Manual for Health Professionals,
4th Edition;
and Caring
for Our Children: National Health and Safety Performance Standards:
Guidelines for Out-of-Home Child Care Programs-2nd
Edition, and Fostering Health: Health Care for Children & Adolescents.
As the COECADC Chairperson,
I invite you to tour our Web site and encourage you to contact
us with your ideas or suggestions.
