A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Web page for the Committee on Pediatric Education (COPE).

The purpose of this Committee is to act as a think tank within the American Academy of Pediatrics for discussion, consensus building and collaboration on emerging issues facing pediatric education. This includes proposed policy, research, curriculum and faculty development, outcome measures, and practice issues as they relate to pediatric education. The Committee, in coordination with member organizations, reviews and monitors the field of pediatric education, identifies gaps or areas in need of enhancement, and recommends appropriate strategies and/or organizational structures. These activities serve the common goal of advancing pediatric education.

I hope you find the resources below helpful, and I would encourage you to check this Web page periodically for updated information on educational policy, curricula, and research.

Cordially,

C. Robin Walker, MB, ChB, FAAP, FRCP(C)
Chairperson

Committee Members, Liaisons and Affiliations

In order to fulfill its role as a thinktank on issues facing pediatric education, representatives from all pediatric societies are invited to send a representative to the Committee on Pediatric Education (COPE). Additionally, the Academy designates members on COPE based on their involvement in the educational mission of the AAP. Below is a listing of the COPE representatives and members.
