Council on Clinical Information Technology

The Council on Clinical Information Technology (COCIT), previously known as the Steering Committee on Clinical Information Technology (SCOCIT), was established within the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2002 by a merger of the Section on Computers & Other Technologies and the Task Force on Medical Informatics. The focus and unifying theme of COCIT is the application of information technology to clinical pediatrics. COCIT has been carefully structured to maintain the educational programs provided by an AAP Section and the policy-writing arm of an AAP Committee, while linking policy to education and implementation
