​Education Committee

The COQIPS Education Committee works to assess the need for, develop and provide educational materials and opportunities related to Quality Improvement and Patient Safety to meet the needs of AAP membership at large, other Councils and Committees within the Academy as well as the Council itself.

Measurement Committee

The COQIPS Measurement Committee promotes knowledge and understanding of pediatric quality measurement and serves as a resource to members for measure evaluation and implementation.

Policy and Advocacy Committee (PAC)

The COQIPS Policy and Advocacy Committee (PAC) supports the development of AAP policy statements, clinical reports, and technical reports related to quality improvement and patient safety. In addition, the PAC develops proactive and reactive strategies for legislative and regulatory issues regarding pediatric quality improvement and patient safety through the Policy & Advocacy Rapid Response Team.

Guidelines, Evidence and Transparency (GETS) Committee

GETs ensures that Academy guidelines meet pre-determined standards for evidence review and interpretation, and are transparent about potential financial and intellectual conflicts.

Patient Safety Committee

The Patient Safety Committee works to promote patient safety by educating clinicians about recognizing, reporting, disclosing, and preventing medical errors; particularly in the outpatient pediatric setting.

Implementation Committee

To assist front line practitioners, quality improvement experts, administrators, and policy makers to implement high yield quality improvement and patient safety projects, this Committee focuses on proven methodologies and rigorous implementation science to improve the care for children.
