The COQIPS Education Committee works to assess the need for, develop and provide educational materials and opportunities related to Quality Improvement and Patient Safety to meet the needs of AAP membership at large, other Councils and Committees within the Academy as well as the Council itself.

Policy and Advocacy Committee (PAC)
The COQIPS Policy and Advocacy Committee (PAC) supports the development of AAP policy statements, clinical reports, and technical reports related to quality improvement and patient safety. In addition, the PAC develops proactive and reactive strategies for legislative and regulatory issues regarding pediatric quality improvement and patient safety through the Policy & Advocacy Rapid Response Team.

Guidelines, Evidence and Transparency (GETS) Committee
GETs ensures that Academy guidelines meet pre-determined standards for evidence review and interpretation, and are transparent about potential financial and intellectual conflicts.

The Patient Safety Committee works to promote patient safety by educating clinicians about recognizing, reporting, disclosing, and preventing medical errors; particularly in the outpatient pediatric setting.
